Hockey Camps The International Hockey School complex, with dual sheets of ice, is located on the Becker County Fairgrounds only 1/2 block from the half-mile public beach. Detroit Lakes is one of the largest lake resort areas in Minnesota with 412 lakes within a 35-mile radius of the city.

Detroit Lakes, population 8000, is located approximately 3 hours northwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The resort community offers a relaxing atmosphere for golf, fishing, swimming, water sliding, boating, and fun for the whole family.

Fargo, North Dakota, population 90,000 is located on the banks of the Red River with Moorhead, MN as its neighbor. IHS utilizes the Teamsters Ice Arena for our facilities. Fargo has all the big city amenities with a small town feel.

Driving Directions to International Hockey Schools

ARRIVING ON HWY 59 FROM FERGUS FALLS: Heading north on Hwy 59 you will turn right on Willow St. exit. Follow Willow St. past Bergen’s Floral and over the railroad tracks. When you get to the stop sign at Rossman Avenue turn right and go 2 blocks. The arenas are on your right on the Becker County Fairgrounds complex.

ARRIVING FROM THE WEST ON HWY 10 (From Fargo): Stay on Hwy 10 into Detroit Lakes until you get to the first stop light on Washington Ave. Turn right at the stop light on Washington Avenue and follow to the lake front where you will curve to the right onto West Lake Drive at the waterslide. Follow West Lake Dr. and take the first right turn after Zorba’s on Rossman Avenue. The arenas are on your left on the Becker County Fairgrounds complex.

ARRIVING FROM THE EAST ON HWY 10 (From Minneapolis): Follow Hwy 10 into Detroit Lakes until you get to the stop light on Washington Avenue.
